So many things...

Now where am I gonna start...I've titled this page as a continuance of the football articles that I wrote previously, but there are some other things I wish to add in, especially with the second term of my final year at university having just begun. My housemate Nelson, who has an inexplicable penchant or knack (or whatever you call it) to indulge in the unexpected, has of course unexpectedly brought his girlfriend along this time with him to the UK. I've got to say I'm not particularly amused. The flat is just about comfortable for the three of us, and he really didn't need to add another person in. The thing is I won't mind her staying for a week or fortnight-long holiday, but to come and tell us that she doesn't have in mind when exactly will she be leaving is not very responsible to say the least. Her boyfriend, in the first place, did not inform us at all that he'll be bringing her over, rather assuming that we'll be accepting her with open arms. She's got a visa (why are these British authorities soooo lenient??) for 6 months and I'm suspecting that she might just use up the whole duration. Why can't Nelson just let Mikey and me have a good time on our last 6 months here?? I don't wanna hear them shagging again in the middle of the night for 6 months! I need my bloody sleep! And it's not like she's contributing anything meaningful to the household. Quite like the Trojan virus on my computer; not exactly affecting anything, but just taking up space and proving to be rather useless. I'm hoping she gets bored of this place (like how we all do!) and leaves during Easter (or earlier).

Cool it, cool it, or rather, like what the Americans and you wannabe-"kewl" people would say, "chill out". Let's talk football. We've beaten Liverpool yet again, and this time I've gotta say it feels sweet to see Rooney rubbing their noses in it. Picked up the ball in midfield, exchanged some passes with his fellow young United colleague Ronaldo, brought it in and whacked a shot past the very generous Jerzy Dudek. And as if that's not enough, he, being a former Everton player, ran to the Kop, cupped his hands behind his ears, and started taunting the shit out of them. Got a mobile phone thrown at him too in the process but the guy who did it must be in the same vein of form as Liverpool's strikers on the day...poor. Needless to say he missed our dear Wayne, and might land himself in hot soup. And it must be remembered that we were without our top striker, our top centre-half, our top full-back (yes, that Gary Nev, though Gabriel Heinze is looking more and more the part!), our top winger, and they've got virtually their best team out, and it was Anfield. The ears-cupping photo was the most satisfactory one for the weekend.

Anyway, I said in my previous football article (I think!) that Stevie Gerrard is a great player in a wrong team. He's obviously still got some way to catch up to our great Keano, but we'll not deny his ability. It looked like my sentiment on his position was shared by the United fans at Anfield as well. I read they were singing rather affectionately to Stevie G, "Why don't you join a big club?" I mean what the hell is he doing there?? That is not the way to cement an icon status! His predecessors at Liverpool would have won far more trophies than he ever will if he keeps staying there. Quit Liverpool in the summer, and join us. There were actually rumours that Sir Alex was prepared to fork out around 30 million quid for him last summer. In my opinion he's the best man to replace Keano when he retires.

Back to the results. "Smelly Shit" Chelsea also won their game later in the day against "Perennial Beating Boys of The Big Guns" Spurs. They were just riding a bit of their luck I'll say. So there we remain, 11 points adrift with just 15 games to go. Just 15 games?? Pardon me, I mean there'll be another 4 months of the season to go yet. We can still win it, but it'll take another streak-stopping, defeat-inflicting, morale-sapping win for us against them, either in the forthcoming League Cup replay, or in the Premiership meeting at Old Trafford later on. But if we can do it to Arsenal (last season "Invincibles"), we can do it to anyone. Remember back in October, the Gooners were on a 49-game unbeaten run, and were also 11 points clear of us in the league (when everyone was bloody saying "oh yeah, it'll be Arsenal again with a 15-point margin this season!"). That lead of course has since whittled down to a single point this week, thanks to Sam Allardyce and his band of bolts. "Invincibles" I hear you say?? And now we've just gotta do it again, though I doubt Mourinho's men would be as weak as Wenger's, but still we've gotta try, don't we? And Alan "you can't win things with kids!"* Hansen said on Match of The Day last night that he thinks that between United and Arsenal, United now have the best chance of catching Chelsea at the top. These pundits are always wrong, like how they were when they said that this season's tussle for the Premiership title would be an all-London affair, but this time I hope the old chap's right. Keep your fingers crossed, God might just be a Devils' fan!

Elsewhere, Everton are still on top of their Red neighbours, after securing a draw with Boro today. It just isn't a good day to be a Liverpool fan, especially if you live on Merseyside!

Ta for now...will continue later.

*you'd recognise this jibe of his if you dare call yourself a United fan.
